Female artisans expertly knit together recycled cotton saris - traditional garments worn by women throughout India - to create these incredibly unique rugs. "Sari" literally means “strip of cloth” in Sanskrit, and these talented women have been repurposing sari fabrics in creative ways for years.
These rugs are produced by the artisans of Pace Crafts in the rural surroundings of Ranchi, India, through the non-profit organization Solid Crafts, which provides sustainable employment for underprivileged women in India, Peru and Kenya. We're thrilled to be partnering with Solid Crafts and look forward to offering more of their unique products over the coming months.
