Our round charcuterie board is a contemporary take on the classic French bread board found in vintage shops throughout Europe. Impeccably handcrafted by Jay Kang at Rescued Woodworks in Madison, Wisconsin, this round was originally designed through a collaboration with @hipfoodiemom1. Like all Jay’s designs, the board is made entirely from rescued wood from Wisconsin – saving quality logs destined for the chipper or landfill and turning them into works of art.
Jay has designed a limited-edition version of his popular charcuterie board just for Haarlem House that pays homage to our Maine roots, using a rare variety of sugar maple common to Maine called Birdseye maple, known for its unique figuring. Combined with a cherry wood center and handle that mimics the cross-sectioning of a vintage French board, we think the results are spectacular.
Each board features a chamfered base and handle for easy lifting off flat surfaces and a side-mounted leather loop that allows the board to lay perfectly flat. It’s the perfect board for showing off your charcuterie, cheese and olives and is hard enough to be used as an occasional cutting board (though, it’s so pretty, you may not want to).
